Tony Romo Is Ready To Lead The Dallas Cowboys, But To Where?

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo sure is prepping himself to be the true leader of this dysfunctional football team.

There’s a lot of talent on this team, and there has been since Romo starting take snaps full-time for the Cowboys in 2006.

He’s ditched his blonde bimbo girlfriend. He’s playing excellent football in preseason, with a QB rating of 105. He hasn’t had any turnovers. And he’s got Felix Jones behind him, a player who is really starting to grab attention as a true playmaker comparable to former running back Tony Dorsett.

The Cowboys desperately need a leader and Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin played that role well during the heydays of the 1990s.

This is the year Romo has to make strides, leaps and bounds over what he has done in the previous 2 1/2 years. With a triple backfield of runners who could start on almost any team, and a group of wide receivers, many of whom are hungry to compete, along with two tight ends who can catch the ball and gains yards after the catch, and it sounds like a recipe for wins.

But the Cowboys also seem to flop in December. That’s where Tony Romo comes in. That’s when he really needs to step up.

Let’s hope he does.
